Bloomfield College has tentatively agreed to pay one year's salary as severance to 10 full-time professors not being offered jobs as the school prepares to merge with Montclair State University, the faculty union's president said. Negotiations remain underway on other issues affecting all employees, including interim health care coverage and tenure protections, Bloomfield College faculty union president James Murphy said. Bloomfield College, a small private school in Essex County, is preparing to merge with the larger public university later this year.
